Yoga Nidra - A contribution of Satyananda Yoga tradition

Sri Swami Satyananda Saraswati is a great visionary whose mission has been the development of an integrated yoga system which incorporates practical philosophy and a holistic lifestyle.
Sri Swamiji has brought to light ancient yogic teachings from sacred scriptures and lost traditions. He has framed them in a modern language which incorporates both traditional and scientific understandings.

Sri Swami Satyananda Saraswati devised Yoga Nidra from traditional Tantric practices which has had a major impact on the world of yoga. Satyananda Yoga Nidra is a pratyahara technique in which the distractions of the mind are contained and the mind is allowed to relax. This practice has had a profound trans formative effect on practitioners.

To have such an experience of real and complete relaxation you can contact any of our centers and request for an appointment with our experienced teachers and practice yoga nidra under their guidance!

Yoga Research Foundation

A full fledged dedicated research institution was founded by Sri Swami Satyananda in the year 1984. This is a visionary contribution of the Satyananda Yoga Tradition to modern humanity. Being a pioneer in the field of yoga research, the misconception that Yoga belongs to some oblivion of the past was busted and the appropriate position of Yoga in the academic, scientific and developmental in the modern world has been restored!

Since its inception the research institute has been involved in fundamental yoga research, clinical empirical research,  literary research and applied research.

Studies of the impact of yoga practices on Pregnancy, Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension, Arthritis, Rheumatism, COPD, cervical, spondylitis, and several idiopathic conditions have been done and the outcome of these studies have been published as books as well as a series of articles in the official magazine!

Affiliated centers nationally and internationally are involved in research under the guidance of the research foundation!
